PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE


Present Continuous tense in English tenses is used for current actions, events during speaking and actions that last only for a short period of time. The Present Continuous Tense is also called Present Progressive Tense

Usage:
1. current event or temporary activity
example: Mr. Teguh the writing a new book
Mr. Teguh is writing a new book

2. Plan in the future, which is certain time (personal) I am going to Surabaya at 07.30 tomorrow
I will go to Surabaya at 7:30 tomorrow

3. events related to something or someone around the present time or talking
example: it is raining day today is raining

4. Present Continuous Tense Formulas:
Positive (+)         : subject + to be (am, is, are) + Verb - ing + object
Negative (-)        : subject + to be + not + verb - ing + object
Tanya (?)             : to be + subject + verb - ing + object

Example of Continuous Tense Present: (+) I am watching TV now
(-) Mr. Khanafi is not going to Jakarta
(?) Is Mrs. Annisa cooking in the kitchen?)

Present Continuous Tense requires:
- verb "to be"
Single,
I am (first person) You are (second person)
He / she / it is (third person)

Plural,
We are (first person) You are (second person) They are (third person)
- verb form "-ing"

Example:
Go + ing = going
- Adverb of time often used in the Present
Continuous tense:
"NOW, RIGHT NOW, TOMORROW, etc"
