PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
Past Perfect Continuous Tense is used to express an
action that began in the past and lasted until other actions in the past.
Usage:
1. The duration of past actions to a certain time point in the past
too
2. Conditional Sentence Type III
If it hasn't been raining, we would have played football
3. reported speech Ann: I was crying
George: Ann said she had been crying
George: Ann said that he had cried

Example of Past Perfect Continuous Tense:
He has been living in Jakarta about ten years (+)

The difference between the Present Perfect Continuous
and the Past Perfect Continuous is: The Present Perfect Continuous expresses
actions that continue until now while Past Perfect Continuous does not.
He has been playing for two hours
He has been playing for 2 hours (he is still playing or just finished)
He has been playing for two hours when arrived
He has played for 2 hours when I arrived (now it is not playing.
